Truro Canoe Club is a racing kayak club involved in the Olympic and World Championship sports of Sprint and Marathon canoeing. The club was founded in the early 1980s and has enjoyed success being the Southwest champions for a number of years.
The club has a friendly atmosphere and new members are welcomed and given help and coaching as they need it. Whilst the club trains hard to achieve the best results in Southwest and national competitions we are not centred around elite paddlers. Everyone who wants to get out on the water either to compete, get fit, or just enjoy stunning countryside views are welcome.
We have BCU qualified coaches delivering nationally recognised qualifications which may be another reason you may want to join us, or you may just want some training on the new canoe/kayak you have bought. The club owns kayaks suitable for 9 year olds to 90 year olds and we have paddles and buoyancy aids, so if you just want to try a taster session there is no outlay until you are sure the sport is for you.
Currently the club meets at Boscawen Park in Truro or at Malpas village where we hold our training sessions on Saturday and Sunday mornings, see our contacts page if you are interested in Joining.
For the first time in nearly 40 years Truro Canoe Club are getting a clubhouse so we will no longer be gypsies with a trailer. To complete our project we need £25k to install water and electric. We have a chance to get a grant from the foundation onefamily but we need people to vote for us. it is easy to do just click the link below, register and vote. we are hoping all our canoeing, kayaking friends will support us, and if you can share this with your networks that would be great. Thank you in advance. To vote go to https://foundation.onefamily.com/projects/truro-canoe-club/
